about me
Backend developer,
Nepal-based
I'm Sanjiv Thapa, a backend developer from Nepal. I enjoy designing and building scalable APIs, working with databases, and figuring out how different parts of a system fit together. Most of my work is with Django, Django REST Framework, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
I've worked on everything from SaaS applications and REST APIs to real-time features, authentication, permissions, and background services. I care a lot about how a system is structured, not just whether the code works especially when it comes to databases, API design, testing, and keeping things maintainable as a project grows.
I'm currently studying BCA while continuing to learn by building and shipping my own projects. A lot of what I know has come from actually running into problems, breaking things, debugging them, and eventually figuring out why they broke.
I'm also a daily Linux user and spend a good amount of time in the terminal. I enjoy working with Docker, Git, Bash, and CI/CD, and I'm gradually going deeper into system design, distributed systems, and the parts of backend engineering that become important when applications start getting bigger.
